Overview / Job Summary
The Adjunct Faculty Instructor at WSU Tech provides subject matter expertise and teaches courses, adhering to lesson plans, meeting course objectives, and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Manages and supervises students in all assigned classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements.
- Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
- Ensures that each program/class meets the WSU Tech Course Standard, includes all appropriate curricular components, utilizes effective teaching methods/practices (pedagogy), and reflects current field practices.
- Teaches and maintains an effective learning environment regardless of instructional modality.
Requirements
- Education: Associate Degree or higher, preferred.
- Preferred Experience & Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years full time (or full time equivalent) current Progressive Work Experience in Aviation Maintenance is required.
- Qualifications required for mandatory program accreditation include a Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate, which is required.
- Extensive experience with FAA/FAR Part 147 requirements and General Aviation Maintenance is preferred.
- Previous teaching or training experience in adult education is preferred, with pre-planning course work.
