This hybrid position teaches assigned courses at our new Atlanta campus (715 Peachtree Street NE, Suite 100, Atlanta, Georgia 30308).

About the Role

Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to teach undergraduate/graduate level Accounting courses in a hybrid format for the upcoming fall quarter, starting October 5th. The hybrid format includes 11 in-person meeting sessions (2 hours each) every week at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at the Atlanta campus, with the balance of the course instructed asynchronously online.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses using a pre-designed curriculum while applying professional expertise to deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Enhance curriculum strength and effectiveness through technology and multimedia (e.g., videos).
  • Arrive on-campus at least 30 minutes prior to the start of in-person sessions each week during the academic quarter.
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the asynchronous component.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to provide timely, quality feedback supporting academic success.
  • Establish and communicate high evaluation standards to students.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings, workshops, or training as required.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Accounting, or Doctorate in a business-related discipline with an accounting concentration, or Master’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA license (active or inactive) preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Five years of professional experience in accounting preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to travel weekly to the Atlanta campus.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Mobility within the office, including movement between floors.
  • Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs require.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with academic evaluation methods.
  • Excellent oral presentation, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.

Pay

$2,300–$2,600 per online assignment per quarter; $3,000 per on-campus assignment per quarter. Compensation is based on the number and type of course(s) taught in a given quarter, with a current range of $2,300–$3,100 per course.
