Adjunct Faculty - Academic Support - Nursing

MCPHS’s Center for Academic Success & Enrichment is seeking a part-time faculty (professional) tutor to support the School of Nursing – Worcester.

About the role

The selected candidate will offer remote and/or in-person academic tutoring to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Postbaccalaureate program. Tutoring support includes, but is not limited to, Foundations in Nursing and Health and Wellness IV: Advanced Med/Surg.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students by appointment virtually or in a remote setting.
• Provide work for students to complete following tutoring sessions to check for understanding.
• Collaborate with course instructors to determine plans of action for specific students when applicable.
• Provide feedback to students on their progression in subject matter.
• Provide feedback to the program director regarding student progress.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Commitment to undergraduate and professional education and student success.
• Proficiency with educational and workplace technologies, including learning management systems, Microsoft 365 applications, student success platforms, and emerging digital tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals.

Qualifications

• Desired: Licensed as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years of experience.
• Desired: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and five years of working experience.
• Desired: Teaching or tutoring experience.

Pay

Hiring range: $44.50/hour. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity and market data.
