Adjunct (Communication)
About the role
ASU is developing a pool of potential adjuncts. Any position available through this posting is a temporary appointment to teach courses in the specified department, which also determines the number and types of courses.
Responsibilities
Basic duties include preparation of syllabus and course materials, delivery of lectures/labs, grading, and assignment of grades.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Communication or Master’s degree with minimum of 18 graduate hours in Communication
- Willingness to teach both traditional face to face and online delivery modes
Qualifications
Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender, and disability.
- Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies
- Skill in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods
- Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred
- Experience in sports broadcasting, audio and video production, and/or forensics experience
Skills
The successful applicant will possess strong communication skills with an ability and desire to teach communication courses in the department curriculum, such as sports broadcasting, audio production courses, argument and debate, and other courses as needed.
Pay
Salary: Master’s: $2,584/class; PhD: $3,230/class
