Adjunct faculty teach courses as assigned based on disciplinary needs, educational background, and experience. Responsibilities include developing and presenting course materials, evaluating student progress, and adhering to the core learning outcomes of assigned courses. Faculty are expected to work effectively within a diverse, multicultural community and adapt teaching styles to reflect cultural understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate student mastery of learning outcomes using relevant scholarly and professional tools.
  • Engage students in critical thinking, meta-cognitive processes, and communication skills.
  • Infuse multicultural and diverse perspectives into instruction and demonstrate respect for individual and cultural differences.
  • Model open-minded inquiry, appreciation for diverse perspectives, and creative problem-solving.
  • Maintain currency in academic discipline and pedagogy.
  • Complete assigned institutional and professional training.
  • Deliver instruction, assess and report student learning, assign grades, and communicate regularly with students in adherence with college requirements.
  • Adhere to instructional timelines and guidelines and utilize college instructional technology.
  • Use only an FCC email account when conducting College business.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field.
