About the role
The Adjunct faculty position provides academic and clinical instructional support to the Doctor of Nursing Practice - Nurse Anesthesia program. Depending on program needs and the faculty member’s expertise, responsibilities may include didactic, simulation, laboratory, clinical, or scholarly-project instruction. Assignments will be determined by the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs in consultation with the Program Administrator/Concentration Coordinator and appropriate course director and/or clinical coordinator.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate subject-matter expertise, current knowledge of nurse anesthesia practice, and the ability to facilitate student learning in an academically rigorous doctoral program. The candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching, student success, professional practice, and collaborative engagement with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate (DNP or PhD) in Nursing from an accredited institution at time of appointment.
- Currently licensed as a registered nurse in Tennessee or eligible for licensure through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact prior to employment.
- Current certification/recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) by the NBCRNA.
- 3+ years of experience as a practicing CRNA.
- Professional experience commensurate with rank.
- Evidence of successful classroom and/or clinical teaching experience.
