About the role
The Adjunct Instructor Pools at Muskegon Community College are designed for individuals interested in teaching part-time in various departments. This pool allows department chairs to review applicant materials in advance and consider them for potential future openings.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses, including day, night, and online sessions at the main campus and extension centers.
- Facilitate student learning and provide educational assistance during regularly scheduled and appointment times.
- Assess student learning through grading assignments and providing feedback.
- Maintain an effective learning environment that maximizes student learning outcomes.
- Encourage student participation in surveys and provide assistance based on the results.
- Maintain professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Ceramic Studies or 18 credits in the specific discipline.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of ceramic studio operations.
- Experience with mixing clays, operating kilns, and lifting up to 50 pounds safely.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Experience with instructional technology is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred teaching experience at the college level.
- Experience working with various populations representing different abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures.
- Experience with instructional technology.
