Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruct students in lecture of business courses.
- Meet classes at assigned times.
- Select appropriate texts and teaching materials.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives and learning outcomes.
- Keep informed on the latest research and journal articles.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
- Provide availability for student interaction outside of class (1-hour weekly minimum per 3 credit hours).
- Evaluate student performance through a variety of assessment methods. Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement.
- Utilize Rock Valley College's chosen Learning Management System (LMS) for all grading, assignments, communication, and student records.
- Prepare course/class reports as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the department's initiatives and activities.
- Attend college meetings when available (faculty, division, in-service training, etc.).
- Adhere to college policies, procedures, and academic standards.
- Adhere to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and any policies or laws that govern higher education at Rock Valley College.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a business-related discipline required, with 18 graduate credits in Business or Accounting.
- 3-5 years of professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of Business theories and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire a diverse student population.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
- Demonstrate commitment to student success and academic excellence.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
