Adjunct Biology Instructor (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Biology courses using effective instructional strategies.
• Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage critical thinking and student participation.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and other required academic records.
• Support the mission and values of Helix College & Career Academy.
• Adhere to all institutional policies and the Faculty Handbook.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to promote student success.

Requirements

• Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
• A Master's degree in Biology or a closely related discipline;
• A Master's or doctoral degree in a medical or health-related field (such as M.D., D.V.M., or D.D.S.);
• A Master's degree in any discipline with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Biology or another biological or life science field.
• Related Disciplines Include, But Are Not Limited To Biology Biochemistry Cell or Molecular Biology Microbiology Genetics Ecology Environmental Science Marine Biology Biotechnology Biomedical Sciences Neuroscience Physiology Zoology Botany Exercise Physiology Public Health Veterinary Science And other closely related biological sciences.
• A maximum of six (6) graduate semester hours in Biology or Science Education may be applied toward the required 18 graduate semester hours.

Qualifications

• Previous college-level teaching experience.
• Experience using learning management systems (LMS).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• A passion for mentoring and supporting diverse student populations.
