About the role

The Adjunct Automotive Lecturer will teach collision repair courses at Kennedy King College.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate courses by delivering engaging lectures and guiding classroom discussions.
  • Counsel students on academic progress, and course-related questions.
  • Prepare clear, organized lectures and instructional materials.
  • Grade assignments, exams, and projects promptly with constructive feedback.
  • Participate in committees and activities that contribute to the college community and its goals.
  • Demonstrates strong content expertise in the discipline, ensuring accurate and up-to-date instruction.
  • Applies innovative pedagogy that engages students through active learning and real-world connections.
  • Embraces a cooperative approach, collaborating effectively with colleagues and department members.
  • Shows a deep commitment to student mentoring, providing guidance and support for academic and career success.
  • Aligns with and actively supports the mission of the college, fostering equity, inclusion, and student achievement.
  • Employs a variety of teaching methods to meet students’ varying learning needs, abilities, and interests and to optimize student outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Average of 60 credit hours in Auto Technology from an accredited college/university.
  • Three to four years of work experience in the field.
  • Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a culturally diverse work environment.
  • Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population desired.
  • Knowledge of Brightspace or similar Learning Management System preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay

The starting salary for this position is $800.00 - $943.00 per contact hour. The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.

Schedule

Contact hours are determined based on the number of credits assigned to each course.
