Adjunct - Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Studies

Adjunct instructor position teaching in-person courses within the Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Studies Degree Program on the main Dowagiac Campus and occasionally at the Niles Campus.

Instructors are responsible for promoting an effective learning environment for a diverse student population and successfully achieving learning outcomes for assigned courses. This posting is for in-person classes only; no online courses are available for this degree program.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person courses in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Studies
• Promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods
• Relate effectively to students, faculty, clinical sites, and healthcare professionals
• Utilize instructional technology in teaching

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field from an accredited institution
• Current Board of Certification (BOC) credential or eligibility, if applicable
• Two years of professional experience in athletic training or sports medicine
• One year teaching experience in higher education
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, clinical sites, and healthcare professionals
• Demonstrated ability to promote active and collaborative learning
• Excellent organization and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine
• Three years professional experience in athletic training or sports medicine
• Three years teaching experience in higher education
