Adjunct Assistant Professor - Central Campus

About the Role

This position encompasses both teaching and administrative duties across several courses. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to ensure learners achieve program outcomes, progress through the curriculum, and engage in a supportive learning environment. Responsibilities include developing critical thinking and inquiry skills, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in program evaluation and faculty development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure students achieve program learning outcomes and progress successfully through the curriculum.
• Foster a supportive learning environment and provide resources for skill development in critical thinking and inquiry.
• Demonstrate excellence in medical education aligned with the institution’s mission.
• Provide leadership in medical student education, including strategic vision and collaborative team management.
• Deliver effective teaching, learner assessment, remediation, feedback, and evaluation.
• Offer career advising and instruction in both clinical and didactic settings.
• Contribute to curriculum development, educational competencies, instructional methodologies, and program evaluation.
• Engage in administrative and committee work across departments and organizational units.
• Build productive relationships with faculty, students, staff, institutional leaders, and community partners.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Campus Dean.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty.
• State medical license in Wisconsin, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience in medical education.
• Experience with curriculum development, learner assessment, and faculty development initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

About the Campus

The MCW-Central Wisconsin campus in Wausau offers an accelerated 3-year medical program, allowing students to begin practicing medicine one year earlier than traditional programs.
