Adjunct Assistant Instructor : Technical Communication
About the role
The Department of Technical Communication supports COURSERA courses and a range of undergraduate TECM courses. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Specific courses may vary each semester based on departmental teaching needs.
Responsibilities
- Teach COURSERA courses and undergraduate TECM courses.
- Support student learning through interactive and engaging instruction.
- Develop and deliver effective technical communication curricula.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and collaboration with faculty and industry partners.
Requirements
- Earned M.A. or Ph.D. from an accredited university.
- Graduate-level coursework in professional and technical communication preferred.
- Prior teaching experience in technical communication preferred.
- Industry experience in technical communication is a plus.
Qualifications
- Must have earned an M.A. or Ph.D.
- Experience teaching technical communication is preferred.
- Industry experience in technical communication is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to design and deliver effective technical communication curricula.
- Experience with online learning platforms like COURSERA.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in technical communication.
