Adjunct - Architectural Modeling

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face instruction in discipline
• Teach using the department’s established curriculum, syllabus, and assessments while collaborating with faculty to maintain consistency across course sections.
• Communicate with department staff, students, and faculty on a regular basis.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on a regular basis.
• Utilize the Kirkwood Learning Management System to post course syllabi and relevant documents and provide access to the student grade book.
• Routinely engage in professional development activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas.

• Effectively instruct and communicate material for the course.
• Absorb and enforce safety rules when in a lab setting.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6000 hours of employment in architecture, construction, engineering or a related field OR
• An associate’s degree in construction management, architectural technology or related field and 3000 hours of employment in architecture, construction, engineering, or related field OR
• A bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering or related field OR
• A bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 12 credit hours of coursework related to building assemblies and 3D modeling software.
• Demonstrated proficiency in SketchUp, including the ability to create, modify, and present accurate 3D models of buildings, assemblies, and construction details.

Preferred Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications, Or Registrations

• Previous experience in face-to-face instruction at a community college.
• Demonstrated success working with ESL students and supporting diverse learning needs.
• Prior use of a learning management system.
