About the role
This position will have primary responsibility for instructing lecture and lab classes in Agricultural Sciences, including but not limited to Animal Science, Crop Science, Equine Science, Economics, Agribusiness, Conservation, and/or Entomology. The role ensures students reach learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Teaches no more than 9 credit hours per semester (75%).
- Works as a team member in the Sciences Department; complies with all faculty responsibilities as outlined in college policies and procedures (10%).
- Contributes to campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements (10%).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean, Associate Dean or Department Chair (5%).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agricultural Sciences from an accredited college or university.
- OR Associate’s Degree with 3 years experience in the field of Agricultural Sciences.
- Previous successful experience teaching in the area of Agricultural Science at the community college level or high school preferred; professional experience may be held as equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
- Collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.
- Excellent computer and multi-media skills.
Pay
$700 per credit hour.
