Crouse Health, founded in 1887, is a leading healthcare provider in Central New York. The Inpatient Addiction Treatment at Commonwealth Place offers comprehensive assessment and treatment services for substance-use disorders, integrating physical, mental, and spiritual healthcare practices.
Responsibilities
- Supervise patients during daily program activities as appropriate to assigned shift.
- Understand and address program goals, rules, and infractions or patient problems promptly, reporting to appropriate staff.
- Support patient program admission process according to current workflow and safety protocols.
- Facilitate educational sessions and help patients complete assigned reading or written work under the direction of the counseling staff.
- Accurately chart patient rising and retiring, attendance, and participation in program activities, and report on patient progress.
- Comply with safety policies, procedures, recognize and address safety hazards, and respond to medical emergencies.
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, employees, referral sources, and others involved in Addiction Treatment Services.
- Promote quality patient care by accepting, understanding, and adhering to the Cannon of Ethics for addictions professionals in New York State.
- Assume other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED and a CASAC-T certification are required, with a plan to obtain a CASAC.
- If without a CASAC-T, a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and a CASAC-P certificate is acceptable, with a plan to obtain a CASAC.
- Minimum of six months to one year of experience in a related patient care or support role, preferably in addiction treatment.
- A valid NYS Driver’s License is required.
