About the role
Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking an Addiction Technician or Specialist to provide direct clinical care to clients in our Detox Center. This role involves a range of essential duties, including conducting intakes and discharges, maintaining clinical documentation, providing counseling and case management, monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, and coordinating resources and transport for clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intakes and discharges
- Maintain clinical documentation
- Provide counseling and case management
- Maintain client vital signs and observe UA/BA tests
- Monitor and secure the facility
- Refer clients to supportive services
- Complete care coordination tasks
Requirements
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record meeting organization's requirements
- High School diploma with Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) actively registered with Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) or Bachelors’ degree with plan to obtain CAT credential within 18 months from hire date for Technician positions
- CAS (Certified Addiction Specialist) actively registered with Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) is required for Specialist positions
- Six months' work experience in behavioral health or equivalent combination of education and experience for Specialist positions
Qualifications
- High School diploma or Bachelor's degree
- Experience in behavioral health or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Passing a language assessment for bilingual differential pay

Pay and Schedule
- Starting wage based on experience, credentialing, and internal equity
- Paid bi-weekly
- Shift Differential Pay: Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $1.50/hour, Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.50/hour, Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $2.75/hour, Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $2.75/hour, Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $4.00/hour
- Bilingual Language Differential Pay: $3,000 per calendar year, paid on a bi-weekly basis across 26 pay periods, and prorated based on hire date and full-time equivalency (FTE)
