Adam Dicker Appointed Walter Curran Professor of Radiation Oncology
Adam Dicker, Chief Medical Officer of OncoHost and Senior Vice President, Enterprise Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, shared a post on LinkedIn:
About the role
Effective July 1, Adam Dicker was appointed as the Walter Curran Professor of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
Qualifications
The appointment is a five-year commitment, renewable, and comes with latitude to pursue longer-horizon research questions. It signals to faculty that the institution values a particular research direction.
Benefits
This appointment aligns with Jefferson's efforts to build the infrastructure for a Competitive Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) application over the next 1-2 years. As a named chair in a clinical department, it is part of the broader strategy to develop a sustainable research engine.
Dr. Curran taught Adam Dicker what a clinical trialist is and opened doors for him in clinical and translational research. The professorship does not alter the day-to-day work but provides a longer-term research horizon.
Personal note
Thank you to the Jefferson Leadership, Said Ibrahim and Dr. Susan Aldridge.
