PACU per diem at Northeast Surgery Center, providing anesthesia care in the outpatient ambulatory setting with a focus on seamless collaboration with the surgical services team. Specialized training includes operating room procedures, phase 1 recovery, critical care CORE classes, ACLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and deliver care for patients in the post-anesthesia recovery phase.
  • Assist with procedures and deliver care modalities, including cardioversion, ECT, line insertion, complex dressing/wound care, and care of critically ill patients in the PACU setting.
  • Support patient care across all phases: pre-induction, perioperative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, clinical affiliates, and RNs to coordinate and direct patient care.
  • Ensure quality nursing care in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, Nursing and Clinical Service standards, ASPAN, and ASA guidelines.
  • Utilize the Nursing Process to plan, direct, supervise, and provide direct care to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current or eligible licensure in New York State. BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute clinical, med-surg, or ICU experience preferred.
  • Participation in orientation, continuing education, and maintenance of skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Work Environment

  • Clinical setting with Class I exposure.

Pay
