Acute Medicine Registered Nurse (6200) PRN
About the role
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The unit manages patients with a full range of clinical issues, from significant blood dyscrasias to advanced endocrine pathology, heart and renal failure, gastrointestinal conditions, infectious diseases, asthma, and many other conditions and diseases.
Requirements
- To maintain PRN employment status, requires working 24 hours every six weeks.
- PRN roles require completing BJC New Employee Orientation, Centralized Nursing Orientation, BJH Nursing Orientation, and EPIC Training within the first week of employment.
- Works Monday through Friday, approximately 8 AM to 5 PM CST.
Qualifications
The preferred qualifications for this role include:
- A degree in nursing.
- No prior experience required.
- Preferred a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Skills
Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
