Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Clinical Associate -- Night Shift
About the role
The role involves performing direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Responsibilities include assisting in providing high quality, cost-effective care by performing delegated tasks, interacting with patients and their families, transporting patients, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides basic physical care to promote patient comfort as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Affords assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
- Transports and safely moves patients according to WVUH's Safe Patient Handling Policy.
- Performs routine tests and maintains quality control logs.
- Assists with examinations and procedures under the guidance of physicians and registered nurses.
- Supports rehabilitation activities and encourages the use of Incentive Spirometers.
- Reports patient concerns and changes in condition promptly to a registered nurse.
- Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of assigned unit equipment.
- Completes errands as requested and removes out-of-date items.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire, and prior patient care experience preferred.
