About the Role
A Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital part of a healthcare team, providing delegated treatment activities to patients with renal failure under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care by monitoring and supporting dialysis treatments, including collecting stats, initiating, monitoring, and terminating treatments, and collecting blood samples.
- Prepare and disinfect dialysis machines, perform safety checks, and ensure compliance with protocols and regulations.
- Apply safety measures, use personal protective equipment, and participate in ongoing education and meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interest in healthcare and patient care; healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA is a plus.
- Comfort with mixing acids and bicarbonate; ability to distinguish primary colors.
- Successful completion of required training programs and certifications, including CPR and PCT certification within specified timeframes.
