Acute Care Tech- Optional/PRN - MSICU

About the role

Supports nurses and clinical staff in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients with high-acuity needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document basic patient care tasks under RN supervision while maintaining required competencies.
• Aid with patient flow and communication using multi-line phones, call systems, and telecommunication devices.
• Maintain a clean, safe care environment; identify and report safety hazards and complete required safety event reports.
• Initiate emergency calls, including Code Blue, Fire, Special Alert, and Rapid Response per hospital protocol.
• Support documentation, medical record maintenance, and computer downtime procedures per TriHealth standards.
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members, escalating concerns as needed.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are available, functional, and properly maintained.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of high school education.
• Age 17 with work permit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Reading and math proficiency appropriate for role.
• Experience with multi-line phones, call systems, and pagers.
• Prior experience in patient care or hospital support environment.
• Some experience as a nurse assistant, or had first clinicals in Nursing school.

Qualifications

• 2 years High School Education (Required).
• Age 17 with work permit.
• Reading and math ability appropriate to the position.
• Multi-line phone skills, familiar with patient call systems and pagers.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) Required.
