Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery - Marietta

About the role

This position is a mix of clinic and in-patient rounding. Schedule is a day shift position working 4, 10 hour days a week, with a 1 in 6 weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform first OR assist duties approximately two days a week.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient's medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
• Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
• Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
• Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise.
• Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
• Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.

Qualifications

• Previous Neurosurgery experience preferred.
• Must hold an ACNP or AG-ACNP certification or Physician Assistant.
• OR Experience Preferred.
• ACLS/BLS required.
• NIHSS and Modified Rankin certified.
