Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hospital Internal Medicine (Days)

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with physicians and other NP PAs to provide high quality hospital-based care.
• Care for a variety of clinically diverse and complex patients in a high acuity, dynamic and collaborative hospital setting.
• Assess, diagnose and treat patients and are responsible for patients in the Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care Units (PCU).
• Complete admissions, daily hospital visits, discharges, and consultations.
• Partner with HIM physicians to demonstrate leadership through involvement on committees and team projects, education, and research.
• Seek to improve the practice through performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• New Grads will NOT be considered at this time.
• One to three years of inpatient clinical experience required. Hospital Internal Medicine experience preferred.
• For Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as a ACNP.
• For Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional Qualifications

• Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs.
• Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
• Strong computer skills in an Electronic Medical Record preferred.

Pay

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Schedule

Full Time
12 hours shifts with rotating daytime shifts, swing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
