Job Summary
The Corporate Actuarial team is seeking an entry-level actuarial professional to support economic value reporting and analytical initiatives. This position provides a strong foundation in actuarial valuation, insurance finance, and financial reporting through hands-on involvement in quarterly reporting, data analysis, model output review, and process improvement activities. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced actuaries and business partners to develop technical skills, business knowledge, and actuarial expertise while contributing to key actuarial and financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and validation of economic value reports and analyses.
- Aid with data extraction, reconciliation, and validation activities used in actuarial reporting.
- Perform routine analyses of actuarial results and investigate data or reporting anomalies.
- Help prepare management reporting materials, exhibits, and supporting documentation.
- Support quarterly and annual reporting processes through testing, validation, and production activities.
- Assist in maintaining process documentation, controls, and governance materials.
- Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives, including the use of Excel, SQL, Python, and other analytical tools.
- Work with Finance, Risk, and Business teams to gather information and support reporting requirements.
- Learn actuarial valuation concepts, economic value frameworks, and insurance financial reporting methodologies.
- Support special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field with demonstrated record of academic excellence
- 0-2 years of actuarial, analytical, finance, data analytics, or related experience
- Up to 3 actuarial exams completed
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge of life insurance, actuarial concepts, or financial reporting is preferred
- Experience with Excel required
- Exposure to SQL, Python, Power BI, R, or other analytical tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
