ACTUARIAL ANALYST
About the role
The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Actuarial Analyst with experience in actuarial or statistical methodologies to join the Rate Regulation Branch. This is a 12-month limited term position which may be extended up to 24 months or become a permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Review the completeness of Property and Casualty rate and class plan applications
- Reconcile data and evaluate any catastrophe, predictive and other model documentation within those applications
- Participate in the preparation of special analyses or projects at the request of Rate Regulation management
Requirements
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The appointee is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700), which includes an Assuming Office filing within 30 days of appointment, annual filings, and a Leaving Office filing within 30 days of physical separation.

Skills
Experience with actuarial or statistical methodologies, knowledge of California regulations, and ability to perform preliminary actuarial reviews of insurer rates.
