Job Type: Full time Exempt/Non Exempt: Salary Job Description: Location Details: Remote Position Schedule / Shift: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm Position Summary: Applicants for this position are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately. Employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (example: H-1B visa) for this role. Depending on team assignment, responsible for learning and utilizing various actuarial techniques and procedures, to include but not limited to: Analyze data, develop material, and prepare appropriate communicationsCompile and organize data for actuarial reviewPrepare reports, proposals, system documents, filing support and documentation filesProvide support to projects as requiredDevelop pricing and/or reserving for current and/or new property/casualty insurance coverage and productsFormulate and interpret mathematical ratemaking and/or reserving models using available toolsAssist with or handle as needed ad hoc analyses, including classification, inflation, and tail factor analyses, for current and future productsSupport state and regulatory filings and respond to inquiries from auditors/DOIsWork with IT and business technical support in gathering and verifying data for rate indications, rate revisions, reserve indications, and special projectsBegin to apply actuarial methods and principles to obtain indications, complete projects, analyze results, and make recommendationsResearch suitable trend indications for analysiscommunicate effectively with others in a work environment and make oral presentations to business unitsRepresent the department on inter-department teamsExecute the scheduled rate reviews and indications to ensure rates are adequate, not excessive or unfairly discriminatory and internally consistent with experienceAnalyze and prepare competitive product and rate comparison reportsAnalyze competitor’s rate structures and coverage Qualifications: Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or a related fieldSuccessful completion of one or more actuarial examinations either prior to or within 18 months of date of hireMaintain eligibility in the Actuarial Professional Development Program following department guidelines Experience In: Performing research and statistical analysis to complete assignmentsPC software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Knowledge Of: Statistical software tools and/or statistical modeling concepts to develop recommendations and draw conclusion Skills And Ability To: Preparation/presentation of materialManaging workflow to achieve multiple goalsWorking individually and as part of a team Preferred Education: Successful completion of one or more Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) examinations Experience: Demonstrated experience utilizing actuarial concepts in business and analytical decision-making Knowledge Of: Insurance industry terminology and concepts Work Environment: This position works from a home office location. Depending on the role, some employees may be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team building events. Compensation & Benefits Overview: ACG complies with all applicable state and local laws regarding required benefits (including PTO, paid sick leave, etc.). Compensation Actuarial Analyst will earn a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance. Holidays vary by business unit schedules. Part-time employees are eligible for 8 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day and 2 floating holidays.
