Activity Therapist - Per Diem
HRI Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Activity Therapist for our inpatient psychiatric units. This is a highly satisfying opportunity for a clinical professional who thrives on providing highly individualized care to a very acute patient population. This is a Per Diem position with hours available on weekdays and/or weekends.
HRI Hospital is a 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. About the role
- Run assigned treatment groups to meet the needs of various functioning levels and/or diagnostic categories
- Utilize interviewing techniques, observations, formal and informal screening/evaluation tools to assess functional level of patients
- Identify patients’ assets and problem areas
- Collaborate with patients in goal-setting
- Recommend appropriate activities for goal attainment and assist patients to select appropriate groups and activities
- Complete daily notes for each group
Requirements
- Education: Master’s in human services related field required. Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or other expressive therapy specialty preferred.
- License: LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or OT preferred
- Experience: One year prior inpatient clinical experience preferred. Six months prior experience as a group leader preferred.
