About the Role
An Activity Sponsor is responsible for supervising and supporting a specific extracurricular club, organization, or activity. This role involves mentoring students, overseeing club activities, and ensuring that all events and meetings are conducted in a safe and organized manner. The Activity Sponsor works closely with students, faculty, and administration to promote student engagement and development.
Responsibilities
- Record Keeping
- Maintain records of club activities, membership, and achievements.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Student Mentorship
- Provide guidance and support to student leaders and members.
- Encourage student participation and foster leadership development.
- Assist students in setting goals and planning activities.
- Budget Management
- Assist in managing the budget for the club or activity.
- Oversee fundraising activities and ensure proper allocation of funds.
- Maintain accurate, transparent financial records and submit necessary reports.
- Club/Activity Supervision
- Oversee the activities of a specific club or organization, ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures.
- Attend all club meetings, events, and activities.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Communication
- Serve as a liaison between the club, school administration, and parents.
- Communicate important information to club members and parents.
- Promote the club’s activities through school announcements, newsletters, and social media.
- Event Planning and Coordination
- Lead the planning, organization, and execution of club events, meetings, and activities.
- Coordinate logistics such as scheduling, venue setup, and materials needed.
- Ensure all events are well-organized and comply with school policy and district regulations.
Requirements
- Education or advanced training with relevance to the club/activity strongly desired.
- Bachelor's Degree.
Environmental Demands
Depending on the activity and school setting, there may be:
- Mild to moderate or louder noise.
- Potential exposure to weather conditions, variable temperatures.
- Typical school classroom / office / gymnasium or outdoor lighting and facilities.
Physical Requirements
Depending on the activity and school setting, the following may be required:
- Lifting of ten (10) or more pounds.
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching.
- Repetitive movement.

- Ability to maintain a generally positive and professional attitude.
- Communicates effectively and positively with the school district community.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in group facilitation, planning, and coaching.

- Strong verbal and written English communication skills and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instructions.
- Willingness and commitment to observe and model all District policies and procedures.

Primary Location: Rock Canyon High School
One Year Only: No
This position will be open until filled, but will not be open past November 24, 2026.
Pay
Stipend range: $0.01 USD – $10,000.00 USD (full range). Hiring stipend range: $0.01 USD – $5,000.00 USD.
