About the role

The ACTIVITY LEADER, TECHNOLOGY 3.5- reports to the Administrator and is responsible for providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take advantage of instructional programs and available resources. The role also involves assisting in developing and implementing a meaningful and organized program for students in technology, including personal computers, chrome books, tablets, multimedia, and project-based learning.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to full implementation of program guidelines and procedures of the Extended Learning Program
  • Affords assistance in computer lab or computer section of assigned programs
  • Affords assistance to students in technology including, but not limited to, personal computers, chrome books, tablets, multimedia, and project based learning
  • Affords assistance in checking, care, preparation and arrangement of instructional materials and equipment; affords assistance in maintaining necessary records and files
  • Works with staff and students in planning assemblies and extracurricular activities
  • Works with small groups of children under direction of teacher or specialist
  • Participates in service training; affords assistance in other program areas as needed
  • Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.

Experience and desire to work with children

Skill and accuracy in oral and written expression

Willingness to follow directions

Ability to work with adults and children

Ability to work in multiethnic environment

Knowledge of computers, word processing, technology, multimedia, and computer assisted instruction (CAI)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college training preferred
  • Current Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate and/or criminal background clearance by Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation
