Activity Director

About the role

As an Activity Director, you are responsible for our residents’ emotional and social wellbeing. You will ensure residents receive the high standard of care they expect by implementing and directing activity programs that meet their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs, overseeing all aspects of the Activity Department, participating in resident care conferences, and developing new activity programs that keep up with trends and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement and direct activity programs that address physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of residents.
• Oversee all aspects of the Activity Department, including staff and resources.
• Participate in resident care conferences to align activities with overall care plans.
• Develop new activity programs and stay current with industry trends and standards.
• Ensure residents’ comfort and safety through attentive program management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Prior experience as an Activity Aide and/or Activity Director in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting.
• At least one (1) year of experience in a director or managerial role.
• NCCAP certification is preferable, though the employer is willing to invest in the right candidate.
