About the role

The Activities Director is responsible for residents’ emotional and social well‑being, ensuring they receive the high standard of care expected at Avantara Pierre. This includes implementing and directing activity programs that meet physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs, overseeing the Activity Department, participating in resident care conferences, and developing new programs that reflect current trends and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement and direct activity programs tailored to residents’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Oversee all aspects of the Activity Department, including staff and resources.
• Participate in resident care conferences to integrate activity planning with overall care plans.
• Develop new activity programs and stay current with industry trends and standards.
• Ensure residents are comfortable, safe, and engaged through attentive, knowledgeable care.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as an Activity Aide and/or Activity Director in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
• At least one (1) year of experience in a director or managerial role.
• NCCAP certification is preferred, though the employer is willing to invest in the right candidate.
