Activity Director

About the role

We are looking for a high-level Activity Director to elevate the daily living experience for our residents and patients. The Activity Director plays a key role in creating meaningful interactions and enjoyable daily happenings for residents through engaging activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop an ongoing program for group and individual activities based on residents’ needs, interests, and abilities as identified in assessments and care plans.
• Participate in care plan meetings.
• Complete required record keeping upon resident admission, discharge, or transfer; chart and document per facility policy.
• Create the monthly activity calendar.
• Provide training and in-services.
• Implement and maintain established policies and procedures.
• Guide, lead, and motivate participation in Resident Council, including scheduling monthly meetings.
• Lead, establish, supervise, and maintain the volunteer program.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a social or recreational program in a long-term care setting is preferred.
