Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, implement, and direct a comprehensive activities program designed to meet the individual interests, needs, and abilities of residents.
- Conduct and document resident assessments to identify recreational, therapeutic, and social needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized activity care plans that promote resident engagement and overall well-being.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, documentation standards, and quality assurance requirements.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support activity department staff and volunteers.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets while maintaining cost-effective operations.
- Cook up and manage special events, community partnerships, and off-site recreational outings.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community organizations.
- Promote resident participation in activities that enhance quality of life and encourage social interaction.
- Continuously evaluate and improve programming to ensure meaningful and engaging experiences for residents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in therapeutic recreation or activity programming, preferably in a healthcare, rehabilitation, long-term care, or senior living setting.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assess resident needs and develop effective recreational and therapeutic programming.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and compliance practices related to resident activities.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
