Activity Director
Your Role
Skilled Nursing Americare Senior Living is seeking an Activity Director to lead resident engagement programs within our skilled nursing community. Key responsibilities include planning, organizing, facilitating, and directing recreational and therapeutic activities that promote residents' physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
What You’ll Do
- Plan, organize, facilitate, and direct recreational activity programs for residents
- Develop, publish, and maintain a monthly activity calendar
- Ensure activities align with resident abilities, interests, and care plans
- Lead group and individual activities that promote engagement and socialization
- Participate in resident assessments and care planning as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Document resident participation, responses, and progress in charts and periodic reports
- Communicate resident reactions, progress, or regression to medical staff and care team members
- Cook up special events, celebrations, and community activities
- Supervise and support activity staff and volunteers as applicable

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- A high school diploma required; additional education related to recreation, activities, or life enrichment preferred but not required
- Previous experience planning and managing a recreational activity program in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to document accurately and collaborate with clinical and care teams
Physical Demands
- Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
- Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance
- Maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.
- Follow proper resident handling and safety procedures
- Utilize required PPE and safety equipment
- Adhere to safe driving practices when transporting residents
- Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
Work Environment
- This role is performed in a skilled nursing environment, including resident rooms, common areas, activity spaces, and occasional community outing locations.
