About the role

The Activity Coordinator assists with organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing activities and excursions for Traditions Memory Care to enhance residents' independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area.
  • Promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes, and other such activities.
  • Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
  • Able to drive Community vehicles.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors
  • Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents
  • Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Class C driver license
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of memory care best practices
  • Experience with planning and executing group activities
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications

$24.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience
