Job Duties
- Leading and assisting with group and individual activities for residents.
- Activities include special interest groups, games, parties, outside trips, and cultural activities.
- Encouraging residents to attend activities and functions.
- Assisting residents to and from activities and recreational areas.
- Providing recreation activities at bedside when needed.
- Distributing monthly activity calendar.
- Aiding in individual care plans.
- Completing documentation as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and walk long distances.
- Experience in working with people that have dementia is preferred.
- Previous experience in an activities program in an assisted living or long-term care setting is preferred.
Other Requirements
- Ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy, creativity, and enthusiasm.
- Enjoyment in working with the senior population.
