Activity Assistant

Job Duties

• Leading and assisting with group and individual activities for residents.
• Activities include special interest groups, games, parties, outside trips, and cultural activities.
• Encouraging residents to attend activities and functions.
• Assisting residents to and from activities and recreational areas.
• Providing recreation activities at bedside when needed.
• Distributing monthly activity calendar.
• Aiding in individual care plans.
• Completing documentation as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and walk long distances.
• Experience in working with people that have dementia is preferred.
• Previous experience in an activities program in an assisted living or long-term care setting is preferred.

• Ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy, creativity, and enthusiasm.
• Enjoyment in working with the senior population.
