Activity Assistant - Assisted Living

Responsibilities

• Affirms and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups.
• Supports and encourages residents to attend and participate in programming and activities.
• Communicates any changes in residents' condition or behavior patterns to the Activity Director.
• Supports the resident’s abilities by understanding their background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity, and attention span capability.
• Works with the Activity Director to develop and implement an innovative seven-day-a-week activity program.
• Learns and leads in-person and virtual activities, including but not limited to arts and crafts, games, and educational sessions.
• Assists in organizing and executing group outings and excursions.

Requirements

• Training and knowledge in recreational activities.
• Training and knowledge of Alzheimer's and related dementias.
