Activity Aide

About the Role

Loyalhanna Care Center is seeking a Full‑Time Activity Aide who can bring energy, creativity, and personality into residents’ days. This role isn’t just about following an activity calendar; it’s about creating memorable moments—whether it’s a themed party, a competitive game, a music sing‑along, or a simple conversation that brightens someone’s day.

Responsibilities

• Run games, crafts, and other engaging activities.
• Help plan, set up, and execute parties and special events.
• Decorate for events and create a festive atmosphere.
• Take residents outside for outings or fresh‑air activities.
• Play music, lead sing‑alongs, and facilitate one‑on‑one visits.
• Introduce new ideas and encourage residents to try new experiences.
• Lead groups while fostering a comfortable, inclusive environment.
• Adapt activities to keep each day varied and enjoyable.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk into a room and make people feel comfortable.
• Enjoys talking to people and hearing their stories.
• Creative, with a knack for generating new ideas.
• Willing to be a little silly when the moment calls for it.
• Capable of leading a group without needing to be the loudest voice.
• Patient, dependable, and compassionate.
• Interest in music, games, crafts, parties, holidays, events, sports, trivia, decorating, or planning.
• Desires a job where every day is different.
• Understands that small interactions can have a big impact.

Experience

Previous experience in healthcare, senior living, recreation, activities, hospitality, childcare, customer service, events, or a similar field is helpful. However, the right personality—someone who genuinely enjoys making others happy—is valued even more than specific industry experience.
