Activity Aide

About the role

The Activities Aide at CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake assists in the planning, organization, and direction of activity programs for the facility population. This includes preparing reports on the assigned population's progress, participating in activities such as sports, dramatics, nature study, social activities, games, and arts and crafts, and engaging in activities that foster the well-being and quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities

• Aids in developing and adapting activity programs to meet the individual needs and interests of each resident
• Completes accurate daily activity records and communicates relevant departmental information to the activity coordinator
• Conducts daily one-on-one visits as required by care plans, encouraging participation in assigned activities and following the monthly activity calendar
• Maintains strong interpersonal relationships with residents and colleagues, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for resident privacy and confidentiality
• Exhibits flexibility and initiative, performing additional tasks as assigned by the activity coordinator
• Engages in continuing education, participates in department/hospital activities, and sets personal goals for leadership and professionalism

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in an activity department, or at least in a nursing facility

Pay

The posted compensation range is $15.00 - $20.12 /hour, reflecting the lowest and highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Schedule

The schedule is variable, with shifts ranging from 4-hour mornings/evenings to 8-hour shifts, occurring occasionally. The employment type is PRN (Per Request Not Scheduled).
