Activities Therapist

Overview

Completes assessments as indicated and documents patients' response to treatment. Plans, organizes, and conducts therapy sessions on an individual and group basis, and evaluates the process of patients.

Position Details

• Mercy Hospital South - Behavioral Health
• 40 Hours per week

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree and internship in related area required.
• Experience working with patients with mental illness and chemical dependency.
• Knowledgeable of mental illness disorders and ability to provide appropriate therapeutic interventions that enable the patient's recovery.
• Skills in providing educational and group therapy interventions, assessment of patients' psychosocial functioning, and knowledge of appropriate community resources.
• Preferred experience: working with patients across the lifespan (pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).

Preferred Certifications

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
• Registered Art Therapist (ATR)
• Certified Music Therapist
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
