Activities Specialist

About the role

Assesses, plans, implements and documents individual and group activities geared towards facilitating the rehabilitation of patient disorders.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements individual and group activities geared to facilitate the rehabilitation of patient disorders.
• Provides group members with the opportunity to engage in activities, which promote socialized behaviors.
• Provides documentation and feedback on patient participation in the activities program and participates in case conferences with other staff members.
• May coordinate activities on individual inpatient floors.
• Assesses program needs and prepares orders for supplies.
• Maintains inventory of program supplies to ensure availability on demand.
• Continually evaluates guidelines to maintain consistency and achieve optimal performance.
• Advises supervisor of recommended changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Sociology or related Behavioral Health field, required.
• Minimum of one (1) years related work experience to ensure familiarity with a variety of recreational therapy and/or rehabilitation modalities preferred.
