Activities Director

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities and events, such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, and social gatherings
• Develop and implement activity calendars to ensure a diverse range of activities for residents
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement activities that cater to the unique needs and abilities of our residents
• Coordinate and participate in special events, such as holiday celebrations, birthday parties, and theme days
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity logs
• Supervise and train activity assistants and volunteers
• Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations and businesses to enhance program offerings

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• A degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred
• At least one year of experience in activities direction or a related field is required
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is important
• A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with seniors is necessary
