Responsibilities
- Create and ensure posting of the Daily HappYnings.
- Post blog entries weekly.
- Create a monthly activity calendar including weekend and evening activities.
- Design and implement a diverse range of activities that align with Montessori principles.
- Be able to explain “what is Montessori” in your own words.
- Speak about Montessori Inspired Lifestyle from an authentic, first-person perspective.
- Tailor activities to meet the individual needs and preferences of residents.
- Engage with residents using the 12 Principles of Montessori.
- Work closely with caregivers, nursing staff, and family members to integrate activities into daily routines and care plans.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on Montessori methods and activity-based care for residents with dementia.
- Evaluate and adapt activities regularly to meet evolving needs of residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress.
- Document the outcomes of activity programs.
- Plan and chaperone appropriate community outings, ensuring residents' safety and enjoyment.
- Create activities and environments for themed meals, holidays, and special events.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of resident care plans.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in activity planning for seniors, preferably in a dementia care setting. Experience with Montessori methods is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Certifications: Certified Activity Director (ADC) or equivalent certification preferred, or certification required by state.

Pay & Schedule
Pay available daily. Benefits start the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and voluntary products. Full-time employees are eligible for all benefits, while part-time employees (29 or fewer hours per week) are eligible for Voluntary Life, Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Voluntary Long-Term Disability, Accident, Critical Illness, Identity Protection, and Cyber Monitoring.
