Responsibilities
- Treat all clients and staff with dignity and respect.
- Organize, plan, provide, and oversee program activities for client-based events and services.
- Use judgment to plan and accomplish goals in healthcare or substance abuse treatment settings.
- Plan and conduct special events, community outings, and group activities for residents.
- Multi-task, demonstrate creativity, and dedicate efforts to the population Gaudenzia serves.
- Transport and act as escort for clients to medical appointments or other business outside the facility.
- Work with the management team to create a full monthly calendar of activities, including a variety of events.
- Conduct and implement fun, engaging activities to involve residents' minds, bodies, and spirits.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in resident activities and events, encouraging all residents to find their niche.
- Prepare and post activities calendar as needed; assist in developing resident and family communications.
- Encourage and support residents in participating in activities; provide necessary personal assistance.
- Assist with maintaining adequate supplies per department budget.
- Report infractions and incidents to appropriate staff.
- Conduct client orientation sessions, seminars, and morning meetings, as directed.
- Follow protocol for reporting unauthorized absences.
- Complete written reports, documentation, and electronic incident reports as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Experience in recreation, hospitality, or a similar field (1+ years preferred).
- CPR certification (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- Flexible schedule; must be able to work one weekend a month.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relations with staff, other agencies, and the public.
- Ability to work with others from various cultures and backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
