Activities Coordinator - Every Weekend Availability Required

About the role

This role involves planning and implementing programs and events that provide socialization, fitness, wellness, education, and recreational activities tailored to the needs and preferences of the residents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement resident lifestyle programming within the community and through outside trips and events.
• Survey and interview residents to understand their interests, talents, and satisfaction with current programs.
• Recognize and celebrate the individuality and diversity of all residents when planning activities and holiday functions.
• Build relationships with residents to encourage their participation in activities that enhance their quality of life.
• Observe residents' function and behavior and report significant changes or concerns to appropriate staff.
• Utilize outside community resources and independent contractors to enrich the variety of programs offered to residents.
• Aid in developing and managing the annual department budget.
• Assist with managing Resident Program Assistants in the absence of the Director of Resident Programs.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required, but 6+ months of programming or activities in a professional setting is preferred.
• Proficient in professional communication and listening skills, ensuring respect for each resident's dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• An enthusiastic personality and a passion for building relationships with residents and colleagues.
