About the role
The Opportunity at Avalon Village Every Weekend is for an Activity Assistant who plays a vital and heartfelt role in enriching the lives of residents. They support residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related dementia, helping them live every day to their maximum cognitive and physical ability.
Responsibilities
- Supportive Presence: Connect with residents, understanding their emotional and social needs.
- Passion: Work with those experiencing Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related dementia.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with the care team to support residents holistically.
- Time Management: Balance daily schedules, multiple residents, and activity prep.
- Creativity: Create engaging, age-appropriate activities that suit different physical and cognitive abilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of a State approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State.
- Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values to our residents, family members, customers and staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months’ related experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successfully completed a State approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State.
