Activities Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Full-time Activities Assistant (Salus Lifestyles Coordinator) to join our team and help create meaningful, engaging experiences for residents in our Assisted Living community. As the Activities Assistant, you will support the planning and implementation of life enrichment programs that promote social connection, independence, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading engaging activities and events for residents
• Support the Salus/Life Enrichment program by encouraging participation and resident involvement
• Help create a warm, welcoming, and fun environment for residents
• Set up, clean up, and prepare materials for daily activities and special events
• Assist residents with participation in group programs, outings, games, crafts, music, and other enrichment opportunities
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
• Help document resident participation and feedback as needed
• Support holiday celebrations, themed events, and community-wide programs
• Promote resident choice, dignity, and a person-centered approach to engagement
• Facilitate socialization among residents
• Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities
• Work with other program associates to coordinate joint programs
• Conduct/lead majority of programs; be flexible in work schedule to accommodate special events and evening/weekend programs
• Train, support, and instruct volunteers to assist with activities as needed
• Plan, coordinate, and help implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays
• Coordinate family functions and events
• Plan weekly excursions
• Identify needed supplies for planned activities to the Salus Lifestyle Coach
• Assist with transportation for activity outings and regularly scheduled group trips
• Drive the company vehicle for resident activities and appointments when needed, if certified and approved to do so
• Carry out other duties as assigned by Salus Lifestyle Coach to ensure smooth operation of the program and to meet resident needs
• Follow all emergency and safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with Salus Lifestyle Coach and other community staff
• Immediately advise Salus Lifestyle Coach and Resident Care Director of any changes in physical and mental health of any resident
• Promote the community in a positive manner and effectively communicate community values to residents, families, and associates

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in senior living, activities, recreation, customer service, or a related field preferred
• Experienced in activity planning, preferably with seniors
• Experienced and interested in working with seniors
• Possesses creative activity skills
• Demonstrates organizational skills
• Mature, pleasant, friendly, and cheerful personality
• State driver license required with clean driving record
• Completion of all HR policies and procedures for community driver
