Activities Coordinator and Activities Assistant
Overview of Activities Program
Plan and facilitate engaging daily activities, programs, and events.
Encourage and motivate residents to participate in individual and group experiences.
Generate creative ideas for new and favorite programs based on resident interests.
Lead games, discussions, music, crafts, wellness activities, and cognitive exercises.
Support specialized memory support programming, including structured daily meetings for residents living with memory loss.
Cookout community outings to restaurants, museums, theaters, sporting events, parks, and other destinations.
Coordinate special events and seasonal celebrations.
Partner with volunteers to create meaningful resident experiences.
Maintain required documentation of resident participation.
Foster a positive, energetic, and welcoming environment that enhances residents' quality of life, dignity, and independence.
Activities Program Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with older adults, activities, recreation, hospitality, education, childcare, customer service, or memory care is preferred, but not required.
- Creative, compassionate, energetic, and engaging personality.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage individuals with varying abilities and interests.
- Valid driver's license with no major violations in the past three years.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
